SESSIONS Magazine Shoot

Some of my definitions of a great shoot:

The Gig: Sessions Magazine is collection of fashion, beauty and art photography captured by some to the most sought-after photographers in the world. I was excited and flattered to be asked to shoot the beautiful Maryse Ouellet for the cover of their latest edition.

The Beauty: You meet people from all over the world working in the entertainment industry; some smart, some beautiful and some that are funny. It is rare to find all of these characteristics in one person. True beauty is confident, witty, charming and comes in the form of a 5’8″ French Canadian bombshell named Maryse Ouellet.

The Team: Working with Maryse on the Sessions cover shoot was easy. Easy in this case is that everyone showed up to the shoot ON TIME! You don’t get this very often in the photography world and it is a great start when it happens. Snaps Creative team went right to work, with Scott Brinegar on Lighting, Leslie Homan on hair and makeup and myself on concepts and photography, we collaborated on four solid looks. I think we nailed it!

The Look: When I say the look… I mean THE LOOK. You know; that vision that pops in your head when you start piecing the puzzle together. Maryse’s looks were a collaboration using bits and pieces from what we each brought to the table. First off, Leslie bringing her vintage wardrobe, adding the magical touch to her amazing makeup artistry that can’t be duplicated. I have to give much credit to Scott on this shoot though, bringing in that British Bobby hat was pure genius and of course adding the perfect lighting that made Maryse’s skin glow. I was excited to photograph Maryse in a fashion form, the versatility she had on set was shocking, transforming from glamour diva into a fashion model, but still maintaining that sex appeal. It was refreshing to see she pulled it off with ease.

The Verdict: From the Latin veredictum; verdict literally means “to say the truth” … The truth in this case being that it takes a great team to win; getting the cover of Sessions is a victory!

I would like to personally thank everyone that took part in this amazing shoot. All of us here at Snaps Studio would like to wish Maryse luck, and look forward to working with her much more in the future.

Thanks to all of Maryse’s fans for your continued support, it doesn’t go unnoticed.
